Omar Gonzalez

Omar Gonzalez pushes the limits to achieve the winning results he desires. A tall and imposing defender at 6’5”, the Los Angeles Galaxy defender and U.S. Men’s National Team veteran is known for his strength and aerial ability.

“Each game I run approximately seven miles, I accelerate forty to sixty times and I change direction every five seconds,” says Gonzalez. “As a defender, I tackle the most and I have to get up very quickly to keep ahead of the offense.”

It has been estimated that on average, Gonzalez spends 88 minutes of each game trying to keep the opponents away from his team’s goal. The results of his efforts have clearly paid off: Gonzalez won two MLS Cups with the Galaxy in 2011 and 2012 and has competed as part of the U.S. Men’s National Team.

“I’m consistently hopeful that I can continue to add on to my accomplishments – it’s truly what makes my job the best in the world,” says Gonzalez.
